The CarriagesShelbourne landauThe Shelbourne Landau, or square landau, originally built in the 1890's, maintained in immaculate condition can seat up to four adults with comfort. It has two folding hoods, which can be raised within seconds, should the weather be inclement.
The paint work is a burgundy and black, with gold lines and has a crest on the doors, (which translates to 'Honesty is the best policy'.) The interior is upholstered in red leather. The landau is always used with a pair of horses. Sefton LandauThe Sefton, or canoe landau, was also built at the turn of the 19th century, it has recently been repainted a lighter burgundy and black with gold lines, the interior upholstery is in dark blue leather, and as with the shelbourne landau, it has two folding hoods which, when they are closed and the windows are raised, totally encloses the passengers in a dry, warm carriage.
Ivory and Glass CoachThe Ivory & Glass coach is an ideal carriage for that special day. A purpose built wedding carriage decorated with ivory bows and flowers. The interior is upholstered in white with ample room for four adults, and is totally enclosed with glass windows on three sides, enabling the bride to be seen regardless of the weather. BreakThe Break, suitable to be used with either our carriage horses or our shires, can carry up to eight people comfortably. It is popular for village weddings where the bride's attendants travel with the bride to and from the church. It has a more rural feel, as traditionally the break was mostly used on country estates rather than in towns. This vehicle is very popular at events when it is required to transport several people, as shown in the picture taken at the Lord Taveners' Cricket match at Goodwood house, and the 10th anniversary of 'the Phantom of the Opera'.
